Eve of Graduation

It has been more than four months since the last blog post. Recently, I have been busy with my thesis, paper, and defense, as well as slacking off and playing games 😵.

I have been busy and went through a lot. I had to revise my paper five times before finally submitting it. I accidentally deleted my backend code and had to rewrite it, which took me a whole day (the cost of not uploading it to Github). I also had to go through a humiliating thesis defense due to some accidents. Finally, I submitted the final version of my paper and it was approved.

The school has not yet notified us about the graduation ceremony and graduation photos. I guess it's because of the COVID-19 situation in Guangzhou, and the school has decided to cancel them (just like the previous year). I feel relieved to avoid some trouble, but also a bit disappointed 😞. But no matter what, I am only one step away from graduating with my degree. Four years of university have passed by quickly, and I can't help but feel emotional about it.

Inspired by a friend (a guru), I also want to contribute to open source projects, not only to improve my skills but also for personal growth. So a few days ago, I made my first PR in my career to jike-sdk. After two or three revisions, it was finally merged. While I felt a sense of accomplishment, I also realized that the quality of my code was a bit low 😅. I still need to continue working hard and contribute to open source projects. I hope that one day my abilities will be recognized by many people, and I will have many followers and stars on Github (dreaming).

I received "Vue.js Design and Implementation" written by Huo Chunyang at the end of March. I am still intermittently reading it. I feel like I'm cramming a bit, but this book explains the design ideas and implementation of Vue very well. After all, he is the man who understands Vue the most, right? 🐶

I realized that I need to study English well no matter when. It is crucial to read technical documentation in English and communicate with others on Github and Discord. A solid foundation in English is important; otherwise, I can only chat in Chinese channels 🤪. In the past, I used to translate technical documentation directly with a right-click. Now, I'm trying to read and understand it myself 😵. Also, based on my friends' suggestions, I'm listening to English songs and watching American TV shows. Maybe coding doesn't require excellent English, but I believe that English is an opportunity to break through professional barriers. Moreover, I think it's really cool to chat with people from all over the world in the General channel (chatting with others has become my top priority).

The boundary of my language is the boundary of my chatting world.

I am a person who lacks a sense of ceremony. Graduating didn't give me much feeling. It's just that the happy and regretful moments always pass by so quickly.

When I first entered my freshman year, it had only been two or three months. At that time, my roommates and I were so close that we had a father-son relationship. We would play League of Legends together in the dorm and order barbecue takeaway for supper. We even went downstairs to the supermarket to buy a large bottle of cola and brought it up. We would eat, chat, and have fun. It was autumn, and the weather was slightly cool. The chicken wings in our hands were so delicious.
That was the most delicious barbecue I have ever had, but I always felt that something was missing afterwards. I hope we can still get together often, and I also want to thank them for always inviting me to play games. They almost turned me into a complete loser.

In these four years of university, I have met people who have been impartial to me, both as teachers and friends.
With a sense of luck and some regrets, I am quietly waiting for the moment when I receive my graduation certificate. I hope my friends will succeed in everything, and the future is promising. Strive for wealth and honor!
